summer blogging?

Guess what!!!  I'm a terrible 'summer blogger'!!! It seems like I just posted, but obviously that was awhile ago.  Summer reconfigures my dna somehow.  I can feel the season starting to make its shift from summer to fall.  It's in the air.  As always I'm hanging on tight to the summer warmth and light.  Wanting desperately to keep eating outdoors, sitting under umbrellas and sipping iced drinks, grazing on berries walking to the mailbox, and just being in that slowed down easy way.  Slipping into work jeans and a tank top, no jackets, scarves, boots or gloves - strolling, instead of body bent pushing against the rain and wind.  But?, sigh, this delicious season is waning and I will relish each remaining day of summer.

I have been busy.  My mother's health has taken a lead in my days.  I have learned a great deal about health care in my local area.  I have found we are very lucky in this small community to have some of the best doctors in the country.  A blessing.  Walking with my mother through this time is one of those blessings in disguise.  More about this journey in another post.

Some things I've found I'm loving are:

mailchimp - an easy, free email service online - I have used constant contact in the past, but I find mailchimp much more intuitive and easy to use.  I sent out an email about my open studio and upcoming show a few weeks ago and it took me only an hour to set up and send - check them out!
ps - you can sign up for my very infrequent emails/newsletter on the sidebar

gobank - an online bank, fdic backed - thought I would give this a try to get money to our grandson at college.  So far it has worked well.  Gobank has free ATMs in many areas that allow me to use my gobank visa card to withdraw money.  In my area I can use a US Bank atm and another one at our Safeway.  I email money to our grandson into his Gobank account.  So far, so good.....

Thredup - an online consignment thrift store - if you are a thrifter, you might want to check this out - I got my first order a few weeks ago and found the garments to be in good shape - as in all thrift stores, you have to dig, but I found some really good deals!!

I've found some other good stuff, but will save for another post - will leave you with a work in progress......

ps, I didn't link any of the above, but all of you are savvy cyber people and can google anything you might be interested in checking out further.  Okay, see you all back here soon!
