sneaky December......

Well, looky here!! 2014!  That dang sneaky December did it to me again.  Every year I vow that the holidays won't interrupt my work.  And every year I allow them to derail all my plans to work through December.   'Sneaky December' starts to unfold and it's all Christmasy, and full of get togethers with friends and family and house decorating (just a little) and present shopping, and baking (just a little), our large family get together for four days in a large Victorian officer's house at a State Park close by, and then ending up here, the last few hours of the year.  I can honestly say I don't miss studio time during the month of December.  It fills with all the things I love about being alive in the world, family and friends.  And one amazing Christmas present!! You all know I love to share things I fall in love with and so behold my newest thing I love:

Silent People bag, upcycled leather coats and belts, etc.

I found these Silent People bags about two months ago - they are handmade in Italy from upcycled leather jackets, belts, etc.  Waaaayyyyy out of my price range, however I found a one day window by accident that allowed me to claim one for myself!!  The other side has two pockets and the inside is so well done, lined with reclaimed fabric in two sections.  Merry Christmas to me.

I have also done my usual, throw diet to the wind and anything health related.  I have eaten waaaayyyy too much, drank wwaaaayyyy to much, stayed up wwwaaaayyyyy too late, forgot where my weights and indoor bicycle are, watched extreme amounts of netflix, and a whole boat load of other 'Sneaky December' things.  I always love it and then also love falling back into my more disciplined life.  It's a good balance..........

And one strange thing happened this month also, I listen to Pandora in the studio and heard a singer I love, Eileen Jewell, so I added her station and somehow found I was listening to Country music and stranger still, really liking it!! Wow! Who knew!!  Okay a piece of art I did this month because this is an art  blog!

oil and cold wax on panel, 30x40, 'Her Support Strategy'

Just a few more hours and another new year will start to unfold and I plan to grab as much of it as I can.  So many new adventures to be had on all kinds of levels.  Happy New Year to all of you!!
