it's all about collage

Have been awol from the studio for the past few weeks - my mom's radiation therapy has been at the top of the list but that has eased a bit - have been back to work a couple of times and finding my old friend, collage, a fresh way to get back to work.  Collage was my first art love - painting with scraps, bits, found things, and wrapping it all up in one place and then tearing it apart and doing it  all over again with new scraps, bits and found things.  It's a very soothing process for me.  The addition of cold wax and oil paint is giving the whole process a new way to bring all the bits together.  The photo below shows one I finished today.  I started with pages from a journal that I used to clean my tools on, then I had collaged papers onto that and then I glued them onto a clean panel and painted.  So fun -
