'30 Artists, 30 Days'

Well Hello Everyone!! Yep, I'm one of the 'artists' highlighted in Seth Apter's newest book, 'Mixed Media Artists'!  I truly feel honored to be among such a group of talented artists.

Art Tips, Tricks, Secrets and Dreams from Over 40 Amazing Artists

Initially when Seth invited me to be a part of his book, my first reaction was to say 'no thank you'.  I knew there would be a bunch of questions about process and other questions that I wouldn't be able to answer because my mind doesn't work that way.  I'm impulsive and intuitive and wander around in a world of creating that doesn't require answers.  Just doing.  But wait, I'm also a very strong believer in working on the negatives to make them positives and turning the weak parts of my art practice into my strong points.  Well okay then, this would involve taking my weakest point, 'formulating answers to questions regarding my art life' and turning that into an opportunity to work on making it a much stronger point!  So I did.  My approach to the questions was to answer them with whatever my first thought was.  So I did.  Honestly?, I did this quite a while ago and can't remember many of the questions, well truly, hardly any of the questions. Or Answers.  I will be as interested as any of you to read what I had to say at that point in my art practice.  And as for Seth Apter?......

........Well I have had the good fortune to be face to face with Seth a couple of times - once in NY we met for breakfast, had an amazing conversation which was cut short because Seth had an appointment and then again when he was on tour in the Pacific NW with his first book, 'The Pulse Of Mixed Media'.  The thing that impresses me most about Seth is his love of art, not only as an artist himself, but as a teacher and an extremely generous supporter of other artists.  I have watched his art career absolutely blossom - I find his story inspirational!  He truly is one of those genuine people who you like immediately.

So get the book!!!

okay, so I got my new iphone 5s (a whole other post) and I think I'm so smart because now I can do panorama photos, so I took one of a wall and a quarter of the gallery!  As you can see, I don't quite have the hang of it, but I love this ability!! I can imagine so many uses for it.....I'll be back later in the week with a few other things.....until then.....
